Hair Today Gone Tomorrow?

Do you pay close attention to the way your hair frames your face? the style that best suits your face- or it matters not? Some styles are definitely not suited to certain face shapes . If your face is square, round, oval , thin or plump , some styles will compliment that shape and others will not. We should make the most of our hair, keeping it in good condition whether we wear it long, short, curly , straight, braided or closely cropped. Hair today, gone tomorrow - some of us do lose our hair as we grow older. So do you spend hours at the hairdresser's or are you a do it yourself person? How do you wear your hair? Are you happy with your current style , color etc? In the photo, longtime actress Sophia Loren is sporting a style that frames her face nicely and gives her a younger look.

My hairdresser cuts my hair to frame my face. I have complete trust in him. I just filled the bird feeders, so am wearing a hair band to keep my hair out of my eyes.

@Kandae11 Thanks! However, I have a new style now which I think I like better. It’s good to change it up every so often.

@DianneN. Your hairdresser's idea? Yes it is good to change it up a bit , providing it looks as good as the previous style.

Which means the occasional visit to the hairdresser. Sometimes ( not all the time) we tend to get better results when someone trained in the profession chooses for us.

@Kandae11 Usually my main concern with getting my hair cut is that it gets undercut toward the face, so it doesn't flip out..I hate flipping out hair.

@snowy22315 Flipping out would look different from the desired result.

Well as you know I am a hairdresser by trade. I have a great interest in this. And I must say, hair can really make or break a person's appearance.

@Kandae11 It suits my face. A very good hairdresser in France suggested that cut many years ago. I liked so much that I never changed. Sometimes I keep it longer on the back, but always the same on the front.

My hair is really getting long. Longer than I've ever had it before. I don't like it getting in my face so usually wear it pulled back in a low pony... I don't like pulling it into a pony if it's still dame, though, so will wear it loose at times. My long hair. Photo is mine.

Wow! How long before it reaches waist length? My son wears his hair in a low pony which is about eight inches in length.

@Kandae11 If the curl/waves are pulled out, it goes below my shoulder blades now. It's taken two years to grow it this long.

During the series of lockdowns, I failed to see a hair dresser. I do it alone hehehe. Under the new normal, I am back to my old hair dresser, he is gay.

It was really hard for hairdressing salons and barbershops during the covid lockdowns. They couldn't make any money.

I have my hair trimmed every seven weeks, but otherwise style it myself. My hair has just enough waves/curls that it's hard sometimes to get it smooth with a hot brush.

There should be some sort of hair gel which would help to make it smooth .

I go once a month to the hairdresser to get it cut. Otherwise, I spend about five minutes putting the brush through it. It's short, just the way I like it.

@Kandae11 I wear a mask when I go out because I just would rather be safe than sorry. Inside I do not wear a mask unless someone i do not know comes to my home. You are right that the face is the first thing people interact with.

@Hannihar l also wear a mask when l go out. So the most important things there would be one's hair and eyes - unless the head is covered as well.

I have never dyed my hair and have only had it cut by someone else twice. I have had it done a few times though for the prom and for my weddings. I like my hair long and it has a mind of its own I don’t care if it matches my face shape or not.
