My pumpkin is up and running

In the centre of the photo between the two pots is a runner from my pumpkin plant. It is attached to the ground back behind the bird bath so it is off and running. Hopefully, you’ll be able to pick out the runner with its biggish, flat leaves. We had the automatic watering system on while we were away but I was still relieved to come home after nearly a month away and find that it was still going strong.
The watermelon plant is also doing quite well. It is hidden behind the other plants but is in a pot to the left of the birdbath. Both plants have flowers so hopefully in a month or two we’ll have some watermelon and pumpkin to pick.

I'm glad watermelon and pumpkin can't cross-pollinate or you'd be eating some really weird tasting fruit.
Your potted plants are looking good!

@JudyEv Sometimes pampering ruins them. Your garden is a testimony

A very nice spot there. Will the melon and pumpkin be ready in only a couple of months? Do lots of birds come for water?

I'm hoping any fruit will be ripe and edible before we leave at the end of March. Otherwise, I guess our loss will be the house-swappers' gain. We don't get many birds at all but hopefully if we can get some taller vegetation around they might come. It's all pretty new development here.

I tried to grow pumpkins last night and it didn't work for me. I will try again this year.
