Here is an interesting date for your diary, apparently today is Doggy Date Night . I found this information on one of those Days of the Year sites.
Tonight we all have to spoil our dogs and let them know how much they mean to us. I would say that most dog owners do this anyway without any reminder.

@lazydaizee Yes, there is a national day for cats and there is a special day for black cats.
National cat day is different from country to country, it is February 17th here and in Italy. I do not know in the UK. Black Cat Day is October 27th.

@LadyDuck Black cats are thought to be a sign of good luck in some cultures so it is not surprising to hear that they have a day dedicated to them.

I will have to have a look to see if there is a national day for cats. If there is then my friend will be excited because she has five cats and a dog.

I visit a website that tells people what they are supposed to be celebrating that day. Some of the ideas are hilarious but I don`t know if anybody takes any notice of these things. Maybe clubs and organisations will hold events on days that are relevant to them.

Yes, I can imagine dogs all over the world getting spoiled today. I expect the pet shops will love it.
