My late sister-in-law was a great knitter and when she passed away, I was given a lot of yarn and a few unfinished projects that she’d been working on. One was this baby’s jacket. The knitting has been done but the seams needed to be sewn, an edging done around the neck and button sewn on.
Another sister-in-law did the seams as that’s something I hate and don’t do well. However, I did the neck edging and put a button at the back. Although it was never mentioned, I think I’ll give the jacket back to the brother-in-law and maybe if/when his grand-daughter has a baby she might like the jacket which is basically her grandmother’s work.

@allknowing Some unfinished projects send you on a guilt trip every time you see them.

The patterns on the baby’s jacket have stereoscopic effect ! This jacket finished by three people is an unique one and a reminder.

The above looks like a great finished product.
Babies need much more warmth especially during the extreme winters.
Such a jacket would be of a great help.

If the girl takes it, it will be nice that it has connection with her grandmother.

That is nice, it is good to keep handmade items in the family. What else will you be making with the wool that your sister-in-law left.?
