One Person's Trash....

Have you ever heard the saying, "One person's trash is another person's treasure"?
This statement describes me. My husband starts rolling his eyes and saying "absolutely not" every time we pass a home with furnishing discarded for garbage pick up. Of course, then he always stops and picks it up for me. I have so much in my home that we have gathered and refurnished or repurposed. My oldest daughter is always getting tired of stuff or replacing home items and throwing the old out on the curb. My husband told her, she better find out the days I am coming by and not throw anything out because he is tired of picking up her garbage for me (lol).
To me it is frugal and fun to repurpose anything that is salvageable.

I declutter my house from time to time. I do it at least twice in a year and give away all that I don't use anymore to donation. I am all for minimal things around, so that the house looke tidy and organized.

And I am the one that takes in what everyone gets rid of. I love cleanliness and tidyness, but I have a basement in which I store my collection of gathered things. I hang on to stuff to repurpose and because I want to be prepared in case my loved ones need something.

@gnatsmom That's a good thing to do. It will come handy to your loved ones when in need. That's a kind thought.
I don't have much space here. But I have a huge cupboard in one of my balcony ( that's more of art studio). It has stuffs that I think can be recycled into some beautiful and useful art and craft work. I also sell some of them to raise charity for a blind school.

I like to purchase used clothing for the home to replace some of the clothing inside of the home that needs to be donated to a charity from time to time.

I have a friend that does that for a living. He fixes the stuff up and resales it.

I had a large and clunky green leather office chair. Too big for our place and Annie dog chewed one of the arms. I asked one of our helpers to take it to the dump. He looked at it and wondered if I minded if he kept it for himself? That delighted me. One less monster piece in the landfill.
