I am sitting here wrapped up in my quilt; but my arms are so cold!!! It is still around 57 in the house....but I have good news. The basement is almost dry!!! As soon as the furnace and water heater are dried out, we might be able to have heat and hot water. Depends on what condition they are in. Looks like for $434 we saved $7.275 that the other company would have charged for digging up the yard!!!
43 days until spring!
Breakfast - Oatmeal square
Lunch - KFC chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, coleslaw and biscuits and honey
Dessert/Snack - Hubby shared his cheesecake with me. Also had decaf coffee.
Dinner - KFC chicken breast
What did you eat yesterday?
Photo Credit: Mine - Timberline Lodge sign in Oregon. We were down below; and it was hot and sunny. As we were driving up the mountain to the lodge we saw cars with s**w on them!!! By the time we got up to the top, it was s**wing really hard. The lodge is the one that was used for the outside pictures of the Overlook Hotel in "The Shining".

Thanks. I'm hoping that there's no damage to the furnace. What a coincidence that you watched The Shining.

That's great news, especially saving that much! Hopefully they are still in good condition. That would be rough to go that long without heat or hot water

Fantastic! I hope the water heater and furnace survived being dunked in water for several days and you won't need to have work done on them or replace them.
I hope you have a good day.

We are replacing the hot water heater anyway. It's 21 years old. I'm hoping the furnace is usable as is.

Glad to hear that it seems, at least, that you are beginning to make some progress even if the current circumstances are still a bit less than desirable. Hopefully it won't be 43 days to normal for you. lol
For dinner we decided to keep it simple and just got McDonald's. We had a late lunch and it was a full one at a place called Patti's in Grand Rivers which I will write about later. I had one of those new Deluxe Quarter Pounders and wifey had chicken McNuggets. We both had an order of fries too.

I feel so bad that you are dealing with such a problem Linda. Hopefully snaking the drain worked and that your furnace will work once it's dry.
Great picture and I remember seeing The Shining a long time ago.

I hope the furnace and water heater will work fine and won't need to be fixed or replaced. I like the cold but our thermostat is usually on 69 or 70. On occasion I may drop it to 68. I wouldn't even keep it on 70 but do 'cause of hubby. Glad you didn't need to dig up your yard and were able to save all that money.

@RasmaSandra They have to replace the circuit board. Should be around $1,000 with installation. BUT I don't have to wash my hands in ice water anymore.
