Tomorrow we are going to do the preparation work for laying the last of the bricks for the guy that had the horrible accident off his motor-bike. Before Christmas, I wrote about paving a path at the same place. In the evening, we will walk from our house across the road to the grassed oval where there will be a number of food trucks. We’ll meet our friends there, buy our dinner from one of the trucks and listen to the music. Next morning, Saturday, Vince has to take photos of our niece’s son which is a very good cricketer. Vince went to the cricket match last Saturday but Liam’s team was sent in to bat so he needs to go again tomorrow. Liam is a fast bowler. Vince took some practice shots of other bowlers, one of which I’ve posted here. Liam is just under 6 foot tall but says he is a ‘short’ bowler. One of the cricketers is 6’9”. The two in the photo look to be pretty tall. Then, on Sunday, unless it’s really hot again, we’ll finish off the brick paving. And that's pretty much how our weekend is looking.

Height helps fast ballers...most of the good pacers are tall.

@sjvg1976 I hope you are doing fine. Yes height helped fast bowlers like Joel Garner Curtly Ambrose etc to generate good pace. Yet we also have had Malcolm Marshall, Allan Donald who were not very tall but what Pace and accuracy they had! Even for India, Mohammad Siraj, Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav can sometimes generate good pace.

That's what this young man said. Even tennis players now need to be tall if they want to make the top ranks.

So food trucks have become very popular in Australia too?

@JudyEv It really sounds like it was a good time. Except that with ten food trucks, I’d never be able to make up my mind what I want to eat!

@moffittjc That is definitely a down side. It's on again this Friday so I'll be dithering in front of them all again.

They are indeed, There were about ten lined up nose to tail, or rather bumper to bumper, on an oval. There were picnic rugs you could use and return after. Lots took their own chairs; someone was playing music and it was just an around good time.

I hope your path paving goes well. Nor does it gets too hot as high heat makes it so so tough to work outdoors. I hope that Liam plays for the Aussies one day. However even the Aussie only teams like those of Western Australia, Sydney, Brisbane etc themselves are very string at times. Pat Cummins would surely like another good fast bowler. By the way, India seems to have some edge over the Aussies in the current test match in Nagpur, India !! I think Steve Smith should be tried as the test captain once more.

India seems to be doing very well at the moment. But cricket is a very mercurial game sometimes.

@JudyEv There are homes that sell food here but I prefer to cook and sometimes order from restaurants.

There was a line-up of about ten trucks all selling different foods. It was very popular. There hundreds of people there.

Enjoy the food trucks. They are usually worth the trip.

They are newish here but now they seem to be appearing everywhere. There are usually a few, rather than just one. I'm not sure what the norm is there.

Hmm so they call people who play cricket “bowlers”? Wow 6’9 is so tall gosh I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone that tall. The tallest guy I dated was 6’4”. Some of my first husbands relatives are 6’7.

I think people in general are taller now than they used to be. In the cricket world, the players are usually best at either batting or bowling so some are recognized as batters and some as bowlers.

You have some busy days coming up. I hope you enjoy your time with your friends, Vince taking pictures of the cricketers, and are able to get the brick paving complete. There is a chance we will see our first and most likely last snow, for the season, over the weekend. Calling for 1-2 inches. Time will tell.

@JudyEv We haven't had any snow here in my part of western N, the foothills. The mountains have had some but are below normal for the season. I would enjoy seeing at least some, doesn't have to be much for me to be happy. I love snow and winter. I'm not a fan of humidity, heat, and summer.
