I give up

I have written posts about the garlic vine that killed a couple of our trees by its dense growth. I thought I had fully pulled it out and had some cuttings planted elsewhere Yesterday on my usual garden strolls I was shocked to see huge clusters of flowers resting comfortably on our curry leaf tree. I have to once again look for the root and pull it out But the flowers are so beautiful. If it did not kill those trees I would certainly not bother but now I am afraid of it killing the curry leaf tree although it is quite robust What would you do?

No matter how many times we do it it still shows up there and this time I did not realise it had climbed so high!!

You need to plant a vertical pole so that it has something to run on otherwise it is going to run on other plants.

A vertical pole will not helps as it branches out and needs more than just a vertical pole.

Wow, you weren't kidding about dense growth! These are certainly beautiful flowers, but if the vine can be deadly to the curry leaf tree, then I think I would try to pull it out.

@allknowing They are beautiful for sure. But it would be best for the curry leaf tree, right?

I would call a gardener and ask him to pull out the vines.

It is the gardener who always does this but that has not helped. We have other invaders too.

@LadyDuck When one sees no more roots one gets the feeling they are all gone but at some odd place there could be a piece of two. We have seen this happening even with other invaders Also each plant has a different culture about how their roots spread.

@allknowing The neighbor had to get rid of bamboo. The gardener came with a small excavator and could dig up the roots.

When it's killing other trees, it's better to pull it off.

I think that is the only solution But I feel bad to do it as all those beautiful flowers will have to be brought down

There surely will be. I do not want to use any weedicide and I am sure they will recommend that.

Oh wow they really are beautiful that would be sad to have to cut them but like you said you don’t want to risk it killing the tree.

The trunk of our curry leaf tree is just like any other full grown tree It cannot be uprooted.

But earlier it killed our yielding guava tree. I will have to do it most unwillingly The tree is loaded with these clusters Good news is it is growing well elsewhere and that place is safe.

@allknowing That's good, then you can enjoy both the flowers and the trees.
