I am trying with beetroot

I saw a tiny shoot on the beetroot that was bought and I decided to plant it just as I have with the sprouted potato It is a few days now and I already see many shoots. I have now transplanted it in the enclosed garden bed where the potato is doing well. I have no information about beetroot growing and probably I will dig out as soon as I see flower drying. I will have to wait patiently for flowers to show up and then wait for them to dry up before digging. Wish me good luck.

That beetroot looks very healthy. I usually feel around the top of the plant (in the soil) to gauge how big the base is and if it's ready to harvest.

@allknowing I would do that with carrots too but always ended up pulling up more than I needed. I just couldn't help myself - wanting to see how big they were.

They are usually ready to harvest 7 or 8 weeks after planting It becomes very visible on the surface of the soil when it's ready.

@allknowing It's not very long. I wonder if the leaves are good to eat, I think they are.

Oh that’s so neat. I hope it thrives and you can eat the beets.

Good luck to you!! I hope you'll get some beetroots. I have no idea how to grow beetroot and potato too. I am interested to go and find out how you did with the sprouted potato. I have always been growing leaf vegetables so far, but not any root vegetables.

I have succeeded with sweet potatoes but I have the mongoose problem. I have now planted all these in an enclosed garden bed and waiting for results.
