Does your diet contain complex carbs, lean protein, healthy fats, and fiber? Fish, lean meats such as beef or pork, dairy products, and fruits and vegetables include these needed nutrients. The body needs certain nutrients to help it remain healthy, lose weight, maintain weight, and live longer. Instead of counting and keeping track of calories, it might be easier to keep track of fiber. In doing so you may begin automatically to look for foods such as whole grains, vegetables, and fruit which are usually lower in calories than other foods.
Of course, you should monitor the number of calories you take in on an overall basis but increasing fiber intake and finding new ways to take in more can also help you to lose weight faster and get toxins out of your body as well. Focus on the foods you are eating and try to find more fiber in them.

I do pretty well with balancing it all out, some days it's hard but I usually eat the protein and veggies that I need. A person has to fix meals to get that accomplished, and in the present day, it seems a lot of people are living on fast food. I fear some people never eat much that is healthy.

I totally agree with you. I am really good some days and not others.

@MarieCoyle ..........There are some bad fast-food places out there. Some very good ones too. There is a lot to be said about a good home-cooked meal. I personally like both.

It seems like I hear people complaining about fast food service and food all the time, daily even. And yet they go back, over and over again. They pay $15 for a poor quality sandwich, french fries, and a sugary drink. I know there are many of us who can produce a high quality, delicious meal, for a lot less, but the trick is, we have to cook it!

I know fibre is good for the body but I don't really check on how much fibre is in the food I eat. To balance things out I take multivitamins every day. I mostly have meals that are easy to make like tater tots, pork patties and gravy as well as rice and chicken nugets,

Balance is a good plan. There might be some fiber in there.

I try to eat foods with a lot of fiber; but I have some gastrointestinal issues; so it doesn't always help.

Not sure what you mean. Fiber helps a person stay regular.

@celticeagle Sorry about that. I mean, there's a fibre as food supplement.
