Let me start by saying Cody Rhodes is a professional wrestler in the WWE (yes, he’s Dusty Rhodes’ son; Dustin Rhodes’ little brother). And as I sit here listening to his theme song, “Kingdom” by Downstrait, I think posting about the second time I met him is a great way to kick off the Wrestlemania season. For those who don’t watch, Wrestlemania is basically the “Super Bowl” or “World Series” of professional wrestling. Since Cody won the WWE Royal Rumble last month, he earned a shot at the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 39. I was a Cody fan long before I became a MyLot member. Long before he left the WWE for several years (because they didn’t believe in him). In fact, I've been a fan since 2009. I’ve always wanted to see him win the Royal Rumble, go on to Wrestlemania, and become the WWE Champion. We’re halfway through it… now the WWE just needs to let him win the championship. I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I believe he’s the total package. He has the in-ring talent, he can work the mic, he’s creative, has been able to do any gimmick given to him in the past… I know he’d be a great champion. So anyway, let’s add the fact that he’s one of the nicest people ever to the list. The first time I met him was during Wrestlemania 29 week in 2013 in New Jersey/New York. My friends and I were at a charity banquet for those impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Fans could basically mingle with the WWE roster at this event. One of my big goals for that week was to FINALLY meet Cody Rhodes. As soon as I saw him, my shyness kicked in. Luckily, my friends approached him for me, and he was happy to meet me. I told him I was a huge fan, and he extended his hand (for a handshake) and introduced himself. That always stood out to me because it just felt like he had good manners. We took our picture and I was on cloud 9 for the rest of the night lol. Now, let’s fast forward to 2016. He had left the WWE in 2016, and he was making appearances at various local promotions that summer. One of the places on that list was Baltimore, Maryland, my hometown. Well, it was Joppa, but it's a short drive from where I live. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity to see Cody again. So I attended the show with other friends, and I bought a meet-and-greet ticket (so I got to meet him and watch him wrestle later). I noticed he was behind the table, and I wanted to stand next to him for the picture. Knowing he’s a sweetheart, I felt a little better about asking him (as I was meeting him solo this time around). When I asked him about it, he happily said, “Come on over here” or something like that, but then he walked around the table lol. I told him about how another friend and I were at the 2014 Royal Rumble, and when his music hit, we screamed so loud, our section stared at us before laughing lol. He asked where we were sitting, and I told him it was up in the 200s section (balcony seats, basically). I don’t remember what else was said, this is from 2016 lol. Anywho, I had paid the $20 for a photo-op because photos mean more to me than autographs. A volunteer took the picture with my digital camera. I didn’t even get to see it at first, but Cody asked how it came out, and the guy said it looked a little blurry to him. Cody immediately told him to take another picture. I’m telling you guys, I looked at that picture after the meet and greet, and the first one was fine. But because Cody didn’t wanna take any chances, I was able to take two pictures with him. I’ll attach my favorite of the two pictures. I did get to see him wrestle later. Our seats were near the aisle, and the people who were sitting at the end left, leaving a series of empty chairs between the entrance and myself. Sooo, you better believed I moved down for his match (which he won, by the way). I know plenty of people who have met Cody, even multiple times, and they can all vouch that he’s just a super nice guy. If I ever have the opportunity to meet him again, I’m going to take it. But until then, I’m planning to watch Wrestlemania 39 from my living room this April, and I’ll be cheering Cody on. I want him to walk out as WWE Champion so badly, and hopefully, that’s exactly what happens. *Fingers Crossed* If you actually read all of that, thank you lol! I’m going to get back to work now. :) Photo Credit: My picture with Cody Rhodes at EVOLVE wrestling back in 2016.

I haven't heard of this wrestler, but my husband was a big wrestling fan. We used to attend some of the matches. It was exciting. Glad you got to meet Cody.
