Another clearing out

So, last year my sister came down and between the two of us, we both collected my wife's t-shirt collection and cleaned out my laundry room. We used it both for laundry, it is where the machines are, and closet. We both wore the same size shirts, but she mostly wore t-shirts and I prefer shirts that don't have crew necks. They always creep up and make me feel like I'm strangling.
This was a giant project and, we did all that in only a week. After we had taken care of the shirts, my geek friend came over and she went through the shirts to make quilts for my wife's nephew, his ex and his kids as well as for me, and herself and her family.
But there was one project that I hadn't done. I really hadn't thought too much about, and that was the winter coats and stuff.
So, today I decided to do it. Most of these things were in the hall closet, what most people do really consider the "coat" closet.
I'm going to say that I'm not too strong, but only 2 of these would be considered winter coats, the rest were sweat jackets and stuff of that kind.
I took 3 bags, not too heavily laden and a bag of plastic hangers to Goodwill. I threw in there 2 purses, an audio book I had listened to and a few other winter sort of things.
I also took 3 coats and hung them up in the coat closet. Now I only have 2 jackets out. How long will I need them? Well, if I had been going to spend any time outside today I would've needed them, but it is supposed to warm up tomorrow. Winter isn't officially over for another month after all. But it is Texas out there and doing the whole "Texas" thing.

My sister and I did that with Mom's stuff when she went to the Health Care Center where she lived. And we had done it previously when she moved out of the 3 bedroom house she used to live in. And all 3 bedrooms had her clothes in them, though one was mostly winter type coats and stuff.

I did the same thing when my better half passed away. His daughter helped me pack all his clothes and my son took them to Goodwill .He had even more clothes than I realized. I did keep one shirt and vest and everything else was taken away.

I hope you checked the pockets before you gave them away. Several years ago, I was helping a friend clear out stuff and I found a $20 bill in a pocket of a coat or sweater she was going to donate.
