No Wifi Options?

Well, I had reset my old laptop to give to my husband when I got my new mini laptop. It was working fine for a while, but it got messed up today when he tried installing a game. So, he tried to reset the laptop but it had an issue. Luckily, we have a Windows 10 disk to boot the computer from and we did get the computer set up again. However, now it cannot connect to Wifi. There is no option to do so. We've tried checking all the drivers to make sure they are good and up to date. We even found one that we thought was missing and downloaded it. However it is still not working! Luckily for now our router has an ethernet cable he can use to connect to the internet, but he can't stay with it connected all the time like that. Have you ever had this happen? Were you able to fix it?

We have two hp stream or steam or what every they are called. They are like 12 inch laptops. Then we have a hp chromebook 2 in 1, and then I have my fullsize laptop.

We have tried everything, other then him resetting the whole computer over again! I can try messaging tomorrow though, if he hasn't figured it out by then. He will probably stay up all night working on it. Well I don't know if it is technically a mini, but it is smaller than my old computer. This one is a 2 in 1 convertible notebook. I think my mom had a hp stream. I can fix a lot of computer issues though, but this one is not working lol

@MommyOfEli2013 Just message me at some point tomororw. I will be around. Well facebook goes to my phone so even if I'm not around I can help. Is it the hp 2 in 1. That's what I have, because I can do all my sketches on it!

@thislittlepennyearns Haha, sounds good....and that's good to know! My 2 in 1 is a gateway computer actually. Sketches? That sounds like a fun way to use the computer

I'm sorry you're having wi-fi issues. No, I haven't had that problem and wouldn't know how to fix it.

@just4him It definitely is not. If we knew what to download to fix that problem then it would be okay. He can get on though if he plugs in the ethernet cable at least

Well I am sorry for my husband, I am not having any issues myself. My computer sometimes doesn't show the wifi option, but I just have to restart and it will show it again. His acts like it is before wifi existed.

Do you have a place to turn the wifi back on. We have that under our icons. Beyond that I can not help you. SORRY!!!

No, not on that laptop unfortunately. I know we are missing something important though. We tried downloading the wifi drivers but that didn't even work.

I'm computer illiterate and just had some problems with my laptop. I shut it down and rebooted. It's doing okay now, although it's on it's last leg. Hope some one can help you out.

Well I thought I was pretty good at computers, can fix most issues...but this is stumping both of us. That's good that what you did fixed your issue for now. We are still at a loss. My last idea is to factory reset the computer again.

Have you tried unplugging and rebooting the router and modem? Sometimes just rebooting the computer helps. I don't know...that's what I would try.

Router and modem? We only have a router? The connection works, I am connected through my phone and my new laptop. It is that his computer doesn't have the capability to connect to wifi.

One I had this same issue. I Couldn't connect WIFI and I found that my system is missing important files. I tried to googling the issue and found that the simple solution is to do factory reset. So I copied all my important files to the hard disk and formatted my entire system and the problem got solved.

Well this issue happened AFTER doing a factory reset. So don't really want to do that all over again...but if it is the only thing.

it's the drivers I guess. All you need to do is to go to my computer and find the hardware properties and then look for the hardware that looks a little different (with a yellow sign next to its icon) this means their drivers are not installed. Download the appropriate drivers for it using your laptop's model number, on HP's website or on Dell's website if its a dell PC.
