Mosquitoes are selective too

There is an observation where some get bitten by mosquitoes more than others and there are some the mosquito stays away from..
Yes. Mosquitoes are selective Research has it that those with type O blood are the chosen ones - double that of those with type A while B is in between Now I know why my husband got bitten more with his type O blood.
The skin secretes a chemical that indicates which blood group a person has Then there is the carbon dioxide one exhales - the more carbon dioxide one exhales the more will a mosquito approach that person.

Are you the chosen one?

I have heard this before, but I am an exception to the rule. I am a type O but rarely get bitten by mosquitoes. Possibly has to do with what I eat, or do not eat. The more sugar you eat the more you get bit.

I knew this instinctively.
I used to know someone who was completely unblemished by ugly pink welts, while I was covered in them!
I figured there had to be something about me that attracted these pesky insects but something about her that repelled them.
It was a popularity contest I would have been happy to lose!

I once asked someone to stay on till my husband returned - he had gone to buy something and when asked I told her the story (lol) She was the chosen one and then my husband would take over. (lol)

I discovered many years ago that lice also depended on something that was not being clean. Probably it was the same thing you write about.
