Most of us try to be as efficient as possible in our kitichen and work out methods that help us to be so. I have a few tips I would like to share with you and would be happy if you could also add yours 1 Never myLot when the milk is getting heated on the gas. You get lost there and forget that the milk has all flown over and the vessel has turned black. I lost 4 I have learnt my lesson 2. See that your apron has a plastic lining so that your clothes do not get wet while at the kitchen 3. Soak dal for a while before cooking as it will save cooking time. 4. Steaming left over food makes it as good as new. [em] 5. Check if all the ingredients are there before planning on what to cook. 6. Do not take help from guests - they will make matters worse I have more https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/ca/Preparing_the_Cake_%285285262061%29.jpg Image credit:

Very good idea. Imagine finding hair in the food you are about to eat.

Guests are NOT allowed in my kitchen, this is a rule. I close the door if needed. Steaming left over food depends which food, this does not work for pasta.

@allknowing - One thing I suggest is to prepare all the ingredients, already weighted, in front of you before starting to prepare your food. I like to portion the leftover and freezer for later, as we do not like to eat the same things two days in a row.

@allknowing Don't over melt chocolate in the microwave or it will turn hard. Before whipping egg whites, be sure the bowl and all utensils are completely dry.

Let's see what did I do for the 6 notes you mentioned: 1. I never mylot or do anything on the gadgets when I am cooking. I always focus on one thing. Maybe listening to the song is fine, but never mylot. 2. I don't wear apron since I change my clothes and bath twice or 3 times a day. 3. Never done this~~ 4. Welp, as a student, I do this 5. Sometimes. I usually planned a day or two ahead. But, if there is no ingredients for the meal, I usually modify them. 6. I AGREE WITH THIS ONE!!!!

Any tips you want us to learn from you? I hate when guests volunteer. You cannot even say no to them and then questions - where is the spoon, where is the knife, where is the dust bin..........................(lol)

@allknowing What tips you would like me to say.... I think we have similar principals here Ahh geez. Even when I see you write that 'where is the spoon' and all that, it almost makes me want to hit your head right now you're the guest, just sit and let the home owner or someone attend you instead

Very wise words. I'm guilty of #1. I'd like to add placing everything you need for a recipe in the correct order with the necessary utensils such as measuring spoons, flour sifter, measuring cup, etc.

I love the first one - and I can improve on it. Never do anything else while myLotting. It's not worth the trouble.

Don't bother about heating milk, don't have a bath, don't water the garden - anything else?

@allknowing MyLotting and multi-tasking aren't good bedfellows. You stop myLotting to do other things then you start again.

If it is a big meal you are preparing try to clean up along the way. That way your kitchen won't be so messy when the cooking is over.

I think slightly differently as we have assistance in the kitchen and so we collect and get them washed with one go.

Always use a timer, put it where you can hear it and always return to whatever it is when the timer dings. If you tell yourself, just a few more seconds, you'll eventually forget.
