Brendel Sleeping In The Dirt

Snapped this photo of my cat Brendel yesterday. Too funny, she is in the mint container of dirt. The mint is all gone now. The freeze got it a few weeks ago. I will get more from my neighbor soon.
So now the container is just full of dirt. Too funny how she will go in the screen room and just go to sleep in the dirt. Maybe she feels like she is outside. Having flashbacks of days gone by perhaps.
I finally got her green eyes in a photo. She usually will not look at me when I have the camera. Got lucky on this one. The Dude was sitting nearby, waiting on his turn to roll in the dirt. They really know how to enjoy life. And they are teaching me how to be chilled as well. Living a drama-free life every single day.

@CarolDM Animals enjoy life more than we humans do.At least I feel so.One of the three kittens their mother had left in our house is missing for last two day.We have already looked for her everywhere;but she is missing. She's very weak and we are missing her badly.

@Shivram59 Sometimes they just show up out of nowhere. I hope she does soon.

Kitty has green eyes too. So does the lady in one of my favorite early CSNY songs. Do yo remember this one?

Awww! Sweet Brendel.
Our cats seem to know when we open the camera apps on our phones.
Yesterday, Henry shifted his position and looked at me as if to say, "No. No. No. No. Put that thing away before I break it," until I asked, "would you please pose this one time for Denise?"
Denise and I have been friends since 1980, and it was on her farm that Henry was born to one of her feral barn cats (and was also feral until I adopted him at age seven months).
This is how he posed.

@CarolDM One neighbor keeps calling him Hank. I'm not fond of that diminutive for Henry but I do my best to ignore her when she calls him that. His nickname is Henny - like the comedian, but in homage to Henry being born on a farm. Get it? "HEN-ny.

@Chellezhere That link was back in the good ole days. I don't remember him. We don't have comedians like that today.

Since Brendel and Dude cannot go outside, it is surely their best way to enjoy at least their "Earthly" moments!
So let them bask in their nice, little glories and you too enjoy the moments!!

And in Summer time, the container would perhaps make them feel cool?

Yes, Mint is good and cool as well.
My wife prepared a Chutney made of Mint and Coriander leaves, and it tastes yummy!

When I first read this, I thought she finally crossed the rainbow bridge. I'm glad to hear you still have her, and that she still enjoys things like that.

Maybe she sees herself as a wild cat.

Maybe Brendel is copying the birds who take dust baths in the yard. Afterall, she must keep her fur in tip top shape dirt and all

@CarolDM I had a rescue cat and she loved to look outside at birds, squirrels or whatever critters were around. Here's a photo from my time in Florida. She is stalking a lizard on the screen, lol.

Pretty eyes. Cats seem to love mint. They can smell things that are buried or supposedly cleaned.
I envy them their ability to be so calm. Our youngest two seem to be able to just drop where ever they are and snooze.

How gorgeous she is ....in my knowledge cats tend to do exactly what they want when they want....I guess sleeping in the dirt is included in that . hahaha
