it's been hard to get on here lately

A lot happened this week, or at least it feels like it's been a pretty full week. I had a family member have a mental health issue this week that killed an entire day and drained the energy from the days that followed. I had a child with a birthday this week and I worked pretty hard to make sure it was a fun day despite my exhaustion (I think it was successful). I'm still dealing with the recovery of my ankle sprain while working at a job that requires standing and moving around. I've been diligent about wearing the splint, but I'll be honest... I'm really looking forward to not wearing it anymore. It's been pouring rain again lately, so my back yard is flooded again with soggy ground. When this happened last month, I slipped in the mud and sprained my ankle, so it's a little scary going in the yard now. On Thursday night when it was raining hard with a lot of wind, the structure around the sandbox and play area in the back yard collapsed. It's not the end of the world and nothing except the shade structure was damaged, but it's still disappointing. Today I'm finally roasting one of the free turkeys from work again. I was going to roast it last week, but it took this long to actually thaw. We're having that tonight with scalloped potatoes and broccoli, and I think we still have some cranberry sauce in the pantry. I'm tired, but still alive and surviving.
