I forgot to watch the Oscars.

Good morning, friends. Yesterday once again I discovered why I was not capable of watching soap operas: I forget I have to watch them and at what time of the day. Still, I can watch all that happened yesterday today and I can read more about the people I´m more interested in. I´ll watch the movies when I can watch them at home. I don´t go to the cinema any longer. I have never in my life gone alone to the cinema and I associate it with going with my husband (we were addicts) and watch movies in the dark holding our hands. We went to movies since we started to date. My then boyfriend was a pro soccer player and he came to see me after the play. We either stayed at my house or went to the movies. He was tired to death after a match and could only sit, talk and hold hands. Later on, when we got married, we had a few wonderful friends and sometimes, instead of going to the movies, we talked and played cards. I now tell one of me grandsons to download one of those movies from the 60s and we watch them here while we eat pop corn. The last movie I watched that way was The Dirty Dozen with Daniel. He made a great bowl of salted popcorn and we cuddled together. I just read about Jamie Lee Curtis´ life. I love her. She is the kind of actress of a new era, not so awesome in looks ((as her father was) but a great actress. Did you watch the Oscar´s?

@LadyDuck I used to know all about movies and stars when we went to the cinema with my husband. I think that I did not miss any of the best American, Italian, French and German movies of that time.

There were many attractive actors years ago. My favorite was Paul Newman.

Ke Huy Quan winning best supporting actor and Brendan Fraser winning Best actor is amazing because both actors got rejected by Hollywood for decades as in no roles for years. The last time Ke Huy Quan have a major movie he was a child. Brendan lost movie opportunities when he aged and gained weight and now they won the same time. Michelle Yeoh is also awesome, first Asian actress to win best actress in Oscars and she proves older women can still do it. People mostly known her as a Bond Girl and Kung fu star.

I notice that now acters are less handsome but act better than before. Only occationally both beauty and brains go together. Decades ago some races were even banned from the first roles in movies.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I know. I have read about him lately. Another Chilean actress I loved was Coté de Pablo who played Ziva in NCIS. I haven´t heard of her lately.

@marguicha There is an actor from your country doing well in Hollywood right now, Pedro Pascal will be winning Emmy's for his role in The last of us.

I don't watch awards shows anymore. I haven't caught up on movies anyway. When my boyfriend comes for a visit, we would go to a movie, but lately we hadn't gone to one.

I don´t think so. But if a man had made fun of me anywhere, I´d be happy if my husband had slapped him.

I saw the opening monologue and the best supporting actor and actress awards. Then I went to bed.

Yes, I watched the Oscars. There are so many new actors and actresses that I don't know. I was interested that Everything, Everywhere All at Once got Best Picture. My husband and I watched it and couldn't get through the movie. I thought it was terrible. I'm probably in the minority.

I used to watch Oscar every year because I enjoyed seeing the old movie stars as award presenters. I lost interest watching the show as many of them passed or are not active in the movie business anymore.

The old movie stars were awesome in another way. They were so beautiful (women) and handsome(men). Now that has changed a lot.
