How to Clean a Nuisance Black Stove

I have a brand new stove in this place.
I mean it was put in when the apartment was updated, so it was here when I moved in.
It has several problems.
Sometimes, it still has that burning off smell when I use it..annoying.
Whatever they put on these new ovens, I mean when I bake something inside, it sometimes puts off a burning smell, and no it is not dirty by any means.
The other thing is oh my goodness to keep it streak free on the stove top is maddening!
I have tried all cleaners without scratching it of course, even white vinegar.
Even glass cleaner too.
Anyway, I found that I will have to get a microfiber cloth to avoid streaks and shine it up that way.
Do you have a black oven/stove and what do you use to keep it streak free?
Anyone have any secrets?

Those are from Walmart the Pioneer Woman.
I had to have them as when I cook the grease splatters no matter what I do even just a little bit on the burner I do not want. Thanks Shanny.

@shaggin I had no choice as I hate those splashes over the burners.
Oh yeah do you have some oven covers? I do not think they were all that much for cost.

I don't have one, but I used to have to clean all of the ranges on display at the store I worked at several years ago and buffing the top with a microfiber cloth is probably the best way to handle the streaks. None of the fancy cleaners we wrote off for store use worked nearly that well on them. You might get close with the streak free aerosol window cleaners, too... but microfiber cloths are probably the best bet.

I love those burner covers.
Mine is a black top with toughened glass. I use simple soap solution and yes a microfiber cloth. It's more than ten years old now but still looks good. I am very regular with cleaning kitchen and around the house.

These new-fangled black appliances aren't the same as the good old-fashioned cast iron stoves of ages past. Those were easy enough to shine up by rubbing scrunched up newspaper over the surface (when it was off).
Baked-on white enamel was easy to clean too, not like these modern painted ones.
(Ok, cranky old lady, that's enough out of you.)

I have one of those glass cook tops and it always gets ashy looking. I have some kind of specialized cleaner for mine, that is when I remember to use it!

We've always had a white stove - but it's not always easy to keep clean either (in different ways from black I guess). I clean ours with baking soda and light sprays of white vinegar / water . . . and do a wipe down every time I use the stove with just a cloth and warm water.

I have always had a white stove too except for the last place and this one, but this one is crazy to try to get the streaks off.

I have one of those glass type stoves where the burners are flat. It is easier to clean I think.

Well it won't if I get the microfiber cloth.
At least that is clear for the shine.
But I wish the burn off would hurry up..they seem to coat it with something. How silly.
I hope you will not have that problem.

I have a black stove that we bought last summer. It smelled burn to when we first got it. I just wash it with a lysol wipe and it is clean.

My stove is aplain silver on top, .the sides are black but the counters are against each side of the stove so no cleaning is required. the oven door is black glass but it’s easy to clean. The top is quick to get rust spots but a little vinegar and soda cleans it.
