Have you ever known a soup to burn your mouth?
I have.
And it is my own fault.
I must have a mouth and throat of iron.
I do not feel the heat of it until after I am done slurping it.
I burned my mouth and it is my own fault.
But I have to eat it hot.
Any less than very hot, and it seems lukewarm to me.
I am sorry now.
Same with tea or coffee, it has to be piping hot.

If I am hungry then I just attack it - no not the soup but the food - and realise how hot it has been

@RebeccasFarm I haven’t gotten a blister yet. Leo used to say that I drank my coffee while it was still boiling.

@RebeccasFarm No, you are not stupid. You are just a bit careless in this case. This happens to me sometimes.

I know what you mean. My tea needs to be piping hot, too, but sometimes it is hellishly so, and I burn my mouth. Not often, but sometimes.

I am similar in the fact that my soup and my coffee or tea must be piping hot.
But..........I like to add milk to get it to my desired temperature.
And yes, I do add milk to every kind of soup that I eat.
My Grandpa used to do that and I believe that is where I saw it from.

Too hot a temperature can cause pain in the esophagus, so I think it's best to keep it warm.
