The two pecan saplings my sons gave me for Father's Day last year, that is.
Both have sprouted leaves this spring. The photo is of the Pawnee Pecan sapling. It leafed out earlier and is sporting a finer look than the Elliot Pecan whose buds are just beginning to show signs of sprouting leaves.
The trick now will be to keep them watered and healthy throughout what I expect will be a very hot summer.
Are the leaves coming out in your area? For those of you in the Southern Hemisphere, do your leaves change color in the fall?

Our native trees have leaves that stay in the winter. And my eldest daughter told me to cover the soil around the trees so that the roots won´t be too cold of too hot. She uses leaves from the year before or grass.

Best of luck with them, The one in the photo looks beautiful, I have not been out looking but then the trees in Florida don't always lose all their leaves,
