We can understand if a relationship ends after 3 months or 6 months. We can say that the 2 people couldn't match eachother. However, what if a relationship is as old as 10 long years? True, that every individual have their own life and interests and on this basis they take decisions. But again, two people must talk to eachother before deciding to move on. Yet, there are people who just don't bother about other feelings and move on as if the relationship never exists!

Sometimes people get bored with the relationship and decide to get separated. But they don't release what they are going to lose from it.

Every individual have their right with whom they want to live or not. But atleast one can discuss it before they part away.

@jeets03 Yes that is important before taking such an extreme decision.

@sjvg1976 Exactly, this is what I mean. There is no problem if one want to move on, but at least have some respect for the relationship if not your partner.

Everyone has their own life choices and we can't judge them. Some are easy going and can move on quick while others might have the emotional setback for a while or long. Anyways, it's my personal opinion that one has keep investing time and effort to keep relationship going on for long. And both sides have to bear the responsibility to keep it going.

@arunima25, In our life, there are many a time we have to take hard decisions. Separation is one of them. However, what I personally feel that one should not run off and give lifetime pain to other, instead they should talk about it before ending any relationship.

@arunima25 Definitely, no one is perfect. We need to adjust and continue.

@jeets03 I totally agree there. Unless the relationship is abusive and suffocating, I am never for a separation. People can talk and sort things out. The notion of perfect relationship and perfect partner is a myth. One has to come out of that.

External forces play a significant role in interfering with relationships no matter how many years they have been together.

You can't force someone to be "the one" for you. If they decide they aren't interested anymore or find a new love interest, then they may move on without saying anything. It happens all the time.

@jeets03 Maybe... or it could mean the person is so ashamed or scared that they just want to leave and know they can't say anything or something may happen to them.

If it is so then it means you have no respect for your partner with whom you spent all happy and sad moments such a long long time.

I am wondering about this too. One of it I guess is the commitment they have.

@Adie04, you mean commitment in their life? If it is so than commitment in relationship is also important.

In a situation like that it's not a relationship but wasting each other's time...my take though.

I think some people just fall out of love and that is the reason they can give up on the relationship so easy.

@jstory07, there is no problem if someone wants to move on or give up, but why to hide it? It can be done with talk with their partner.

This is tough. After so many years you are used to the person. Suddenly by yourself is not easy. The person who leaves should explain to the other person.
