Easter Foods

The long Easter weekend is almost upon us starting from Friday - Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
So much to do - church services, picnics and heaps of other activities.
What special meals do you prepare on those days. In Jamaica, fish prepared in various ways is a main dish , and of course there is the famous bun and cheese (shown above) which is a must.
Any special plans, activities, food?

As a child I liked Easter Saturday the best as that is one day no church and no prayers at home (lol)

Nothing going on here. When I was a kid, mom made a huge meal because all of her kids would come over and bring their families with them for Easter.
Pretty and I rarely see any of our family except for one brother and one sister. All the kids are grown and gone.

@Kandae11 Yeah, my brothers and sisters are getting old and passing away... Just four of us left now... That's how life always goes.

I remember my mom serving ham on Easter and making a dessert called Struffoli.
Struffoli also known as Honey Balls is a Neapolitan dish made of deep-fried balls of sweet dough. The dough is used in many Italian sweet treats.
One treat I will make on Easter is an egg casserole mixed with sausage, onions, and peppers.

No, nothing special here. What kind of bread is used with the cheese? I guess the must usual food around Easter is fried herring, a delicious fish.

On Easter we usually go to my great-aunt's house. But only one cousin showed up.

I'll have lunch buffet with family on Saturday. Bought some Easter chocolate eggs for my nephew's kids.

Usually ham is involved. I am visiting my family this Easter, and have no idea what the plans are. Usually sis and bro in law will cook, but I told them not to do it unless they felt like it because we could always go out somewhere. I feel kind of guilty running them ragged. They don't mind it but it is a lot of work.

I grew up having ham for Easter most years. My family and I are having duck this year. Duck is not my favorite, but my son really enjoys it.
