A busy time

April and May are busy, both in and out of school.
At school we are tacking down plans for field trips, concerts and field days.
Here in Florence, Ks. the city is making plans for Memorial Day. Last year they held a Motorcycle Grand Prix, with both vintage and modern bikes. Lots of people came to participate and enjoy. To accommodate them the city rented out spots in the vacant lot for people to park their RV's and pitch their tents.
The put in a pump so that there was water to be had last year. It was at the end of a muddy time and part of the races went through mud, so they needed to be able to wash up. This year they are adding a road way or drive way in the camping area. The graders and dump trucks have been out there all day.
It is very interesting to watch from my front porch.

For Labor Day they stage a parade there. I do get to see quite a few things.

This may turn in to quite the money maker for the town.

@GardenGerty Having an influx of visitors even once a year can be a huge boost to local companies.

I think they leased the spots for $50 for the entire weekend. No electric hookup or bathroom facilities, but still nice and probably pretty safe.

Before the pandemic, April and May are the month when students are on school break and since it's the summer season, it's the season for going to beautiful islands or in cooler places like the mountains. But when the pandemic came, school term schedule changed and now April and May turned into school months.

The towns in Kansas have been some of the most lively places I had ever lived.
Ottawa had a lot of events all year.

I have always said that if you wanted to you could find a festival every weekend for most of the year.

Not really too bad. Even when it fills up with campers, it seems when the people are here they mostly sleep or eat.

Nice to sit back on the front porch and watch others working. I hope the water comes in clean and clear,
