A chair for a giant

Across the lane from our house-swap is a gift store and art gallery owned by Joe Biden’s cousin/second cousin. I’m not too sure of the relationship.
There are some lovely gifts in there but it’s rather an exclusive store so I’ve only bought a card so far. However, I discovered this great chair in the art gallery at the back of the store. Isn’t it a beauty? No way I’d want to be climbing in and out of it but you could have it by the side of the bed to chuck clothes on. It was about six feet high at the back.
It’s quite early here in Ballina, Ireland, and the streets outside are getting power-cleaning ready for Joe’s visit. It is looking more and more likely that he’ll come down this street.

The chair is interesting but it would take up too much room just to use it to toss clothes onto.

Just how large is it? Hard to tell without a reference. But it looks much like the one my father made that stands more than a yard tall at the back.

@JudyEv I saw the pram, but without knowing its size either, and the pictures on the wall could be any size, too...

That's quite a huge chair. It's a lovely center piece of attraction though.

@toniganzon If you were rich, you could build a house to fit the chair. lol

It would be interesting to know whoever buys it who will be using it in their household (lol)

That chair looks like a work of art and is comfortable to sit in. I bet my cats would just love jumping in and out of it,

One of you should have stood next to the chair to show its size! That's a biggie.

In our ancestral home, we have two huge Maharaja chairs ( King's chairs) in the verandah. We enjoyed sitting there. It's almost 150 years old age it's still in good shape. It was a good climbing exercise for my daughters when they were toddlers. They would resist any help( toddlers ego) and it was fun to see them struggling to get in there and sit.
. It was hilarious that they were so tiny for the huge chair. That chair is even bigger than this and a masterpiece of teak carving. There is a mobile stand below the armrest which you could bring in front to keep your cup, food or even rest your feet if you needed a nap.

@JudyEv And looking at their strength and conditions, I am sure that even my great grandchildren can enjoy them

Cool chair, I saw that he broadcast from Ireland yesterday. It probably feels good to be out of the US for awhile, on kind of a pleasure ambassador kind of trip. I wonder if we will have an uptick in Guiness here? ha, ha.

Hopefully he is getting a little enjoyment from his trip and now getting heckled all the way.

I suppose it's interesting but pretty useless otherwise.

Do you know who the chair was made for? Perhaps it is going to be used in a film set or an exhibition.

There was no sign on it so I don't know why it was made.
