Pleurisy Doesn't Make Me Happy

I had my gall bladder taken out back in the 90s, not sure what year. But, up until I did I used to have gallbladder attacks that also included pleurisy(inflammation of the membrane that lines the chest cavity and lungs). This was extremely painful. I recall one morning, when I was still married, that I woke up having a severe attack. I moaned loudly and moved around thinking I could maneuver my body so the pain would subside. That didn't work so I went out into the living room and lay on the floor, rolling from side-to-side moaning and crying. My wonderful husband came out of the bedroom in an angry huff because I had woken him up. This made my anxiety rise which made the pain worse. I quit having much pleurisy after the gallbladder was taken out. I still have it from time to time, however. It's a bit of a wake-up call for me. Telling me that I am hunching over the laptop and by doing so I am compressing my chest and causing the upset. I just had one. The only way I can rid myself of the pain is to drink ice-cold water. I can actually feel the cold water going down my throat and it feels so good. I am still feeling a bit woozy. I think I will live to post another day. I have had pleurisy or gallbladder attacks.

I don't think I've had either but I did have an ovarian cyst the size of a watermelon in my teens.

That's odd. We have that running in our family. That wasn't fun either. Another one grew in a year later and caused me to have to have a hysterectomy.

I had my gall bladder out years ago, but I had it out early an didn’t suffer inflammation. I had one bad gall bladder attack and had the surgery quickly. I’m so sorry you still suffer inflammation.

I had Pleurisy once many years ago, and I hope I never have it again. It was so painful. Each breath felt like getting stabbed with a knife. Fortunately, it cleared right up with antibiotics.

That is how I describe it. Knife stabs. Mine just takes a lot of ice-cold water.

That sounds extremely painful. I remember my oldest daughter being a severe pain before she had her gallbladder removed.

GB attacks are AWFUL. My gallbladder almost killed me. I have an extremely high tolerance for pain and that $hit was awful.

I used to get something similar when I was younger. I had to take a deep breath, which was excruciating, to make it go away. I'm sorry you're having these problems. I hope you feel better soon.

I am able to get rid of the pain by drinking some ice cold liquid.

I knew Pleurisy is very painful as a friend of mine had it. I think she said it was caused by medication she was taking for an illness. Some of your symptoms and reactions are the same I've had when my back went out and flared up. Especially the rolling on the floor trying to find a comfortable position.
