Woke up to rain and thunder

It seems like deja vu all over again. We woke up this morning to rain and thunder, much like we did last Friday morning. Our plans to hike the second half of the Crosswinds Trail today are washed out. We are supposed to get a few hours' break from the rain this afternoon. Then, just in time for dinner, here comes more precipitation. On the plus side, it is much warmer this Friday than last Friday. The good news is that Saturday and Sunday should be sunnier and dry. How is your Friday and weekend shaping up so far?

@DWDavis That is wonderful. I miss those kind of days. I was so used too fishing, camping, hunting, all those kind of things. Have a wonderful time.

The weather today (Saturday) has been beautiful. I went kayaking/fishing on the lake this morning with a friend. This afternoon, I'm relaxing at the campsite. Later, we'll have dinner with our camping club

We had total overcast yesterday and kept hearing thunder during the night but never got any rain. The sun is shining in a partially cloudy sky today but the prediction is for rain to start sometime tonight. It's 73F right now heading toward a high of 80F... I hope you have plenty to keep you busy today. Good luck!

@DWDavis I'm sure they are... Pretty just woke me up to show me marble sized hail with lightning and thunder. By the time I reached the front door, the hail was ending and a deluge was pouring down. My phone says it's bright and sunny outside, though.

Our puppies wouldn't let us keep our Fridate with our bed. They insisted on going outside in the rain to do their morning business.

@rakski We have 2 dogs. Our older one is between 13 and 15 years old. He is a rescue, and we don't know for certain how old he was when we adopted him. He's a miniature Schnauzer. Our younger one is almost 2 years old. We adopted her when she was just 8 weeks old. She's a Corgi.

@JudyEv I've had issues with Joe in the past, but he is such an astronomical improvement over what was there before him that I've come to appreciate him a whole lot.

@DWDavis The whole town is abuzz. It's nice for them whatever you think of him. I don't really have much of an opinion but he spoke very well and very positively to the crowds.

Ah, you’re Jackson Browne, huh? You love the thunder, and you love the rain. That’s really put a damper (no pun intended) on your vacation! Have you still had a relaxing time? Supposed to be nice today and tomorrow, and rain on Sunday then cooler for a couple of days.

Sunday through yesterday was nice, with temps gradually warming each day. We had a very nice hike yesterday morning. The rain today is a bummer, but the rest of the weekend should be decent. I am a Jackson Browne fan. However, whenever I hear thunder, I think of Robert Mitchum.
