CLEAN!! My teeth are clean! Today was my semi-annual cleaning and checkup. The news was mostly good: no cavities, no gum disease, no problems! There was a substitute dentist who saw me today, and he’s a music geek, too! We had a great time talking Pink Floyd (his favorite band). Of course, “Comfortably Numb” is the theme song of every dentist. The news that wasn’t good was related to why I had a substitute: my regular dentist’s father passed away, and he was in Israel for the funeral. Also in the “clean” department: the dishes! I had the crockpot going for another batch of infamous potato soup, which I made even more infamous by adding a third ingredient: broccoli. So now it’s broccoli potato soup. (The other ingredient is chicken stock.) There’s now five servings up in the freezer for the next couple of weeks or so. So let’s talk about the picture. For you fellas, I may need to explain what that is. That’s a “feminine product” disposal box. Now, before you call the psychiatric ward and ask them to pick me up, NO, I do NOT have a large photo collection of such items on my phone. I took this photo for a reason. If you’re perceptive, you notice the lock at the bottom of the box. And that’s the question that it begs: why is there a lock on this thing??? And why’s the lock on the bottom when there’s an opening on top??? (And why do I really care??? ) I’ve completed sixty three trips around the sun now. I’m celebrating with a free lunch at Chuy’s. (It just worked out that way: they have a “frequent lunch” card, and mine is full now so the next lunch is free.) Thunder Over Louisville is this weekend, the kickoff to the Kentucky Derby Festival. That means the Derby is two weeks away. That also means I’ll be two weeks away. I’m hoping to go to see the USS The Sullivans in Buffalo and the prison where The Shawshank Redemption was filmed in Mansfield, Ohio after the golf tournament. I’d also like to go to Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia, and maybe down the Blue Ridge Parkway. My next appointment is a month from today, so I’m good for a little jaunt. I don’t know, where do y’all wanna go? Have a great evening!!
