Does the color matter?

My husband likes eating watermelon very much. He bought a watermelon and today he cut it and then found it was yellow. I know there can be some new types of watermelon in recent years, and yellow watermelon is one of them. However, I still don't get used to it. It is sweet and juicy, it may be fine if I close my eyes when I am eating it. I still think the normal red watermelon tastes better

The color does matter a lot

I love eating yellow watermelons! Those are hard to find where I live now... When I was a young man, I lived and worked much further South, in Arkansas, and often bought yellow watermelons and took them back to my parent's house for my whole family to enjoy. I'm sorry you don't like the yellow watermelons as much as the red one.

Yeah, I guess not everybody likes different color watermelon. Have you seen blue and purple meat watermelons? They're really good, too.

I must say that this yellow watermelon tastes the same like red watermelon, but it is weird to me as I hardly see this color for watermelon.

Though they taste remarkably similar, I like the yellow ones better. Most of the times in my experience, they are sweeter with an almost honey-like taste than their red counterpart.

Me, too. Besides usually yellow watermelon will be much more expensive as it is something different.

@Beestring I can't tell the differeence between yellow and red watermelon. Since yellow one is special, so it charges higher.

We don't get yellow water melon in my city. We get the red one and I make fruit chat out of it. I mix it other fruits and take it with a topping of ice-cream.

Yes, I ever saw square watermlon in Japan via the net. Actually Japanese watermelon is rather expensive.

The color doesn’t really matter to me. Next time you get watermelon that is a little too sweet, sprinkle a little bit of salt over it. Have you tried that before? Some people I suggest that to have tried it, and love it while others look at me like I’m nuts when I suggest it.

When I was a child, my grandma would use a little bit salt to eat the watermelon. But I still prefer to eat the watermelon directly.
