Day 287 (Proverbs 17:5) He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker; he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished. Poor people have a bad reputation because they’re poor. People mock them and keep them from having a better way of life. The saying, the poor get poorer, and the rich get richer applies no matter where you live. Poor people cry out at those who get better jobs without skill while the poor have the skills and are continually passed over. It’s hard to get ahead when you’re constantly pushed down. The same people who pass them over also make fun of their hardship, joking and making merry at their troubles. Solomon knew that those who mocked the poor mocked God. He knew that those who rejoiced and were glad at their troubles would not go unpunished. As Christians, you know Satan will do whatever he can to keep you in the dust, making it hard to find a good job to take care of your needs. He wants you to forget to call out to God who provides everything you need. If Satan can keep you from prayer, he wins the battle. Yet when you committed your life to Jesus Christ to take care of all your needs, you broke through the barrier and changed your position in life from poor to wealthy. How often have you seen your meager paycheck go beyond its boundaries? When the end of the month came, you found God met all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, not according to your bank account. You might not see wealth in your bank account, but you will see wealth in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Then those who laughed at your troubles will no longer laugh. Satan retreats with his tail between his legs because you trust in God with your life. You give Him glory and praise. You bow your head and worship God who gives you the power to get wealth. When you have Jesus in your life, you have all you need. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for giving me everything I need according to Your riches, not mine. Let me praise You every moment of every day, worshiping You for taking care of me. Let me see Satan flee because he can do nothing to me without Your permission. Set the boundaries around my life so he cannot touch me because I praise You with my whole being. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. I agree with you. It is really amazing how I can afford to have food that suits our budget and I thank God for always being there for us

I wish I could come up with something more eloquent than saying amen, but amen is definitely what my heart says.

Sometimes that's all you can say. I know God did well with the study. Have a blessed day.
