Let's see...where to begin?
I did Discussions from 4/24 and 4/25 today and only had about 60 Notifications to do. I am starting to see daylight and will be caught up some time in May. I've been able to replace the photos and files that I lost; so all is good for now with the computer.
My 1994 Toyota has been sitting in the yard with flat tires for years. Someone stopped by and wants to buy it. All we need to do is find the title.
I called around for some quotes on landscaping. I called 8 landscapers. Some didn't respond, some are available in July and August; and one did not show up for the appointment with us. One of the companies that I called does not do landscaping anymore; but the son of the owner does. We called him and he stopped by and gave us a quote. It was twice what we had anticipated; but hubs said to go ahead. We are the only house on the street with just weeds in our flower beds. It will look so much better when he is done. We have instructed him to make it as maintenance free as possible since we can't really do weeding, etc. anymore.
Since the kids across the street can't cut our grass anymore, we tried to find someone. Our landscaping guy's brother cuts grass. He is also expensive; but we may not have a choice.

Great to see you posting discussions again, meaning you’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!
Everybody and everything is more expensive these days.

@LindaOHio Can you find a neighbourhood kid who is loyal and wants to make a little income?
That would be a good candidate for cutting the grass.

@LindaOHio Hopefully if he does a good job you can look into getting him for the fall clean up of your yard, and maybe that will entice him to consider doing your yard again next year.

I didn't mind when it was the boys across the street. Having to pay someone more than twice is much is annoying because there is no one else!

@LindaOHio - There are no young boys here around who would come and mow our lawn. The gardener is too expensive, until I can, I mow myself.

Yes, it seems that people don't want to work. There are businesses everywhere with "Help Wanted" signs and restaurants that are running on short staff because they can't find anyone who wants to work.

@LindaOHio The plant where K works as the financial controller is having trouble finding and keeping people. A lot of these Gen Z kids don't want to do the hard work required for some manufacturing jobs. They're afraid to get dirty. And the plant pays pretty well. New hires start at $19/hr for basic jobs.

His dad is Better Business Bureau accredited and has an A+ rating. He recommended his son for the lawn mowing. We didn't check references. He is our only option at this point.
