You don't have to yell. I listen more attentively to people who speak in a normal manner and not those with loud voices. I tend to be jumpy when someone speaks loudly like he/she is speaking to someone far from him. I usually assume there is an emergency. As they say, don't shout, unless needed. I even prefer someone whispering to me than someone yelling. A lower voice register speaks more strongly to me because I can listen more attentively without the accompanying stress. What about you?

My mom has to be spoken in a normal tone too because she tends to get jumpy very easily

Yes..there's no need to shout. Albeit that, some people tend to have loud voices though. Anyway, speaking soft and polite will be cool but not all with loud voices have bad intentions though.

I hate people shouting at me like my boss who thinks that he may be able to show his powers when he shouts at people but in my views he is weak that's why he shouts and cannot control his emotions.

Oh, you're spot on. Yes, he is indeed weak and insecure, because his emotions control him and not the other way around.

I sometimes jump when someone talks in a loud voice. I like people who talk in a normal voice.

Very true, when someone talks in a loud voice, I would always think that there was an emergency.

I cannot stand people yelling. I get up and I go informing that, when the tone of voice would be more normal, I could come back and listen.

@Jenaisle If someone needs to yell, it means that this person is wrong but want to impose his decision/idea.

Of course, wearing masks never helped, and my Doctor, has a soft voice, but with his mask on, it comes over as muffled, and it is impossible to understand him. We should assess each situation on its merits. I also have a quiet voice, and many times, people have told me to speak louder, so that they can hear me. As to yelling, though, I do not like that either, and I usually move away from a yeller, telling them, as someone else said too, that I will only listen to him when he calms down, and talks more gently.

Those are exceptions, when one has to speak out louder to be heard with a mask on. But yes, if someone yells, it is good to move away and only talk to him/her when he/she calms down.

@innertalks Is it a protocol in the army to yell, "SIR, YES SIR!:"

@Jenaisle Yes, nobody deserves to be yelled at, ever. That is one reason that l do not like the army, and other military organisations. They yell at the ones lower down to show their "authority" to them, which just makes them hated more.
