Howdy from Georgia again! I’m off for more Civil War history today, but first I’m going to give you another song that celebrates its 50th birthday this year. This might make you feel old…but this is to celebrate the timelessness of these songs, and if that makes you feel old in the process…then get up and dance!
Let’s go.
Dream On - Aerosmith
Think about that when you hear it on classic rock radio later today (if they haven’t already played it). This. Is. FIFTY.
Originally released as a single in 1973, it bombed. So they re-released it in 1975…and it didn’t bomb. In fact, it’s the one Aerosmith song that most people know.
Personally, I prefer the Toys in the Attic album (completely off-topic side note: R.E.M. did a great cover of the title song) in the world of Aerosmith. You just can’t mention the bad boys from Boston without including this song, though.

Wow, how many times have I heard this tune on FM radio. So many I can hear it in my "Dreams." But I must say, when I'm in the mood that tune does elicit some "Sweet Emotions."

I love hearing it because I don’t listen to the radio anymore. Therefore, I hear it when I want to, not every three hours.

This and “Walk This Way” are the guaranteed-to-be-played songs from them in the US.

Yes. Old. I remember hearing "Dream On" on AM radio in 1973. I was 5 then, and not as young as anyone may think I look in my picture that was taken last year when I was 54.

Yes! Know it and love it. Not usually my type of music; but then this isn't heavy metal either.

I’m not a big fan of theirs, so this song and the Toys in the Attic album suit me just fine.
