Couldn't open the cat food

I ordered the cats' monthly food supply and it has been sitting until last month's was completely gone. Just a few minutes ago, I tried to open it. I though it would be relatively simple, but nooooooo. If you notice in the photo, I have merged three photos so each segment can be seen. The first is what the bag looks like after talking a steak knife to it. The second two are the supposedly easy open top. You can see the plastic tabs sticking out. I was supposed to be able to grab one of them and tear it across the top. As you can see, that didn't work. I got a little movement on the purple end, but even with the knife couldn't get past that spot. The other end didn't budge. I'm older, but I'm not weak. I couldn't find my scissors, so the steak knife butchered it open. Well, at least the cats will have their food. Geez.

Many of these packaging look easy to open but they are not.. they can be annoying. I always resort to scissors to open them. Glad that the cats got their food.

I do as well, but I couldn't find the darned things. One cat is quite happy. The other will be when I take it to her. She's finishing off what she already has from the last bag.

@jerzgirl Sometimes we don't find things when we actually need them. Seems like the cats love their new food.

I usually have to open bags like that with scissors. It's extremely annoying.

@jerzgirl That doesn't happen here anymore. When I got full custody of my daughter and anything moved from where I wanted it, I'd yell until she brought it back. I always told her things have a place in my house and I want them put back where they belong after you use them. (Her telling me "I didn't touch it." didn't work with me.)

I've been there myself, with the dog's bag of dry food too. It isn't always pretty.

I was getting pretty heated. My daughter says it's the same getting with the dig food she buys. Yet, cat litter bags are really quite easy to open despite being tightly sealed. They need to copy the methodology, I think.

I have kitchen scissors to remedy this problem.

I think they must use super glue and than fold it over. Sometimes I can not open the bag either.
