8 May - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today was a difficult day. However, I still have much to be thankful for. I'm thankful that for as painful as my rib was today, I could get dressed without pain. Something I thought would be difficult. I'm thankful for the exercise class this morning. I got one mile instead of five or six on the bike, but I did it. I won't be working out on the bike again until the rib heals. I'm thankful my rib isn't as painful now as it was this morning. Yes, it's all about my rib today and movement. I'm thankful I can move and breathe with ease. I'm thankful for the work I did on Where Eagles Soar today. I got quite a bit done. I have 130+ pages left before I start the publishing process. Soon. I'm thankful I got the notifications finished this morning. It felt good to be here and see what you're doing in your world. I'm thankful for a phone call to a myLot friend who isn't here anymore. I've been trying to remember to call her and today I did. I'm thankful for all the little things that I take for granted that a painful rib brings into focus. We go through life not noticing how everything works together. We get to the point where we don't even notice those little things until something happens and brings them into focus and we need to put our attention on those things for a while and appreciate how important they are. I'm thankful for the walking, talking, miracle I am. God created me for a purpose and it wasn't to take life for granted. It is to appreciate all the gifts He gave me. So, right now, I'm thankful for my rib. I'm thankful for the stupid romance I just watched. It's actually not bad. It's on Netflix, #9 in movies today called The Wedding Date. If you like romances and have Netflix, you'll like this one. I don't like romances and I like this one. I'm thankful for every one of you. You give me something my life would be lost without - friendship. Sometimes I wonder about the value of a blog site. Sometimes I wonder if I'm really in it for the money. No, I'm not. I rarely even look at the bank. I'm here for the friendships I've made over the years. When someone said something a few years ago about something I was aware of that happened a few years ago, I looked at my profile and found out I've been here for eight years. Those eight years have flown by on wings. Before myLot it was Bubblews. It's where I started and started making friends and friendships. Because it's more than clicking on the friend button to see how many friends you can rack up. It's about friendships. You mean a lot to me. I don't know you in person, but I know you. And you know me. I appreciate every one of you and thank you for being part of my life. What am I thankful for today? Life with all its ups and downs, its joys and sorrows, its chaos and deadlines real and imagined. Life is wonderful and I hope you take time to appreciate it. Don't worry about my rib. It will heal. I'm thankful for the pain. It means I'm alive to feel it. I'm thankful for relationships, for my children near and far, for my grandchildren and all the drama they bring to my life. We need relationships as much as we need friendships. And most of all, I'm thankful for God. Without Him in my life, I don't know what my life would look like or where I would be right now.
