Orchids add sophistication and art to gardens Like roses they too demand certain conditions for them to successfully grow such as sandy soil, good drainage, morning sun and pruning at the right time.
I have not succeeded in growing them so far but looking around now I see that my garden could give it the conditions that it demands.
I have to now look around and start with simple orchids to begin with. It is reported that there are more than 28000 varieties of orchids and they all are first found in jungles.
Are you orchid crazy?

I am not, I do not care about flowers so I am not crazy for them. Yet I can appreciate the beauty of orchids.

@allknowing What i mean is I can live without them. I have had so many flowers from admirers, but they never meant a thing to me you see. I guess you may also say there is a part of me, a big part of me, that is not a lady.

I have one orchid gifted to me by my friend and it's doing good. I had to bring it inside in the gazebo because of too much of rain in the last two nights.

@allknowing I only have this one that a friend offered to us 8 years ago. I want to move it inside the garden room and see if it can stay there also during winter.
