Day 302 (Proverbs 29:18) Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law. When people do not understand, they do whatever they want. You see this attitude in children until you teach them right from wrong. You see the willful attitude of people at all levels of society. Poor people blame it on their poverty, rich people blame it on their wealth to do whatever they want. Neither believes they will receive punishment for their actions. Yet those who uphold the law have no fear of punishment. When the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they did whatever they wanted when Moses was at the top of Mount Sinai receiving the law. They knew better, but they had been surrounded by people who didn’t know God the entire time of their slavery. So, they acted as they wanted and committed fornication and worshiped the golden calf, which they made to be their god. When Moses saw their disobedience, he threw the new tablets of the law at them and brought judgment against them before he went back up the mountain to receive another set of the law. As Christians, you have the Bible to teach you right from wrong and what God expects of you. When you obey God, you have nothing to fear from anyone. Yet many Christians believe they can keep sinning in their old lifestyle without punishment. (Romans 6:1-6) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How will we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us were baptized into Christ Jesus was baptized into His death? Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in the newness of life. For if we have been united in the likeness of His death, certainly we also will be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. When you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, you became a new creation in Christ Jesus. You put away the sin of your past and took on the righteousness of Jesus Christ. (Galatians 2:20) I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (NKJV) (2 Corinthians 5:17) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV) Satan knows your old lifestyle and will tempt you with it every chance he gets so that when you sin, he can condemn you and make you feel guilty. (Revelation 12:10) Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God, day and night, has been cast down.” Satan’s purpose is to make you sin and bring accusations against you to the Father. However, you have a way out through the cross and blood of Jesus Christ. When you confess your sin in true humbleness of spirit, God will wipe your sin from you. He doesn’t see your sin but sees your salvation. (1 John 1:9) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NKJV) Therefore, you have nothing to be afraid of because your life is hidden in Jesus Christ. You can live in happiness, knowing God forgave your sins. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for giving me a way out through the cross and blood of Jesus Christ when I sin against You. Help me to live in obedience to You so that I will have no fear from those who come against me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 12 May 2023 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

Jesus told the woman who missed being stoned by the crowd that her sin was forgiven and she should sin no more. We all have a chance at redemption if we believe.

I am thankful He gives me boundaries to live within. And when I go outside of the boundaries, He is there to forgive when I ask. Have a blessed evening.
