I was talking about this high school 'friend' in a previous discussion, and that got me thinking of my friend Connie a/k/a Maggiepie here.
Back at the end of July 2018 my roommate "J" moved in. I met "J" through my wife, before she was even a roommate, just a good friend. They met working at a hotel in Austin. This was 1998ish, I say that because she had just turned 25, could've been '97.
So, this is just to set up these stories... okay?
I was 19.5 on May 23, 1973 and "J" was born June 2nd, 1973, I am, literally, old enough to be her mother. Now, "W", "J"'s mom, gave up a baby a bit older than that, 20ish, and didn't have "J" until she was... 28 I think, well... so she's nearly 10 years older than I am. Why do I tell you this? Well, it is very much part of why I'm going to tell you this next story.
The first time Connie met "W" was before Viv was a roommate. Of course, Connie had to meet everyone who came over, and we were going out to do something - probably food. At this point Connie had 'gone to bed' so to visit her we had to go to her room. This was also after Connie had fallen into the Right Wing Web and was getting kind of strange. So, "W" and I went in and I introduced her to Connie, who proceeded to call her "Mrs. C." Now, I suppose that is correct, but even "J" calls her mom by her first name because her mom worked with kids who often called her "Mom" and really didn't respond well to it. I laughed and said: "Connie, "W" is closer to our age!" She gave me this strange look and I told her how old Julie was. Since Connie was just 6 weeks shy of being 6 years older than I am, that put her even closer to "W"'s age!
Another time Connie said something about "J" being a pagan. I laughed and said: "No, she's something like Lutheran or Methodist, one of those more conservative Protestant faiths." (She's Lutheran.) Connie asked about all the Irish knots and tree of life stuff, and I told her she just likes them. Heck, you get right down to it, those Irish knot works started out mostly doing Christian things.
Now, people, don't get all upset about my reference to a political leaning, I am conservative too, it is Connie just took it in some weird direction. At this point she had been ventilated a couple of times and was beginning to show some brain damage. It got worse later. Before she died she told me that she knew she wasn't as smart as she had been. I knew she had always had some weird things going on in her brain even when I met her, I was 22 and she was 28. But I guess between the LSD and the O2 deprivation things got worse.

Oh, after I ranted about "A" I was 'talking' emailing my long time friend about Connie. Connie was always jealous of my other friends, but at that time was still trying to be nice to "J" since "J" wasn't living with us, and didn't look like she ever would.
