I am watching a documentary about the earliest days of Egypt. As I type, they are showing cliff drawings of Oryx, a cow-like animal that became domesticated cattle over decades, that archeologists believe were drawn some 19,000 years ago. The show is supposed to take us through Egyptian history up to the modern era-ish. Do you enjoy documentaries about ancient cultures?

I probably need to be in the mood for them but I did enjoy walking through the tombs in the Valley of the Kings.

Our boys grew up watching the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, and Animal Planet. They thought most "kids" shows like Sponge Bob were too stupid (their word, not mine) to waste time watching.

I used to but I rarely watch any TV nowadays and when I do watch any documentaries I find they really seem to drag out the content and pad it out with atmospheric shots and suchlike, I could have read the information imparted in about 5 minutes!

Stretching out the story has become a tactic documentary makers use too often these days.
