We should provide respect to waiters. It's seldom done nowadays!

Hi guys,
Hope you all are doing good. I am doing well too.
I believe we should give respect to everyone in general. I have seen and heard people talking rudely and badly with others in public places especially in restaurants.
On weekends, when it's very crowded in restaurants or food courts, people behave rudely with waiting staff as noone has got patience nowadays.
I feel it's bad. I try to give respect to everyone including people waiting tables. We all are humans and should understand that in busy hours, delays are bound to happen.
I just hope and pray that people act responsibly when they are outside in public places and be patient during rush hours.
Let me know your thoughts about it. Have a good day. Take care.

A couple of months ago I was with a friend at brunch, and my friend was clearly dissatisfied with the waitress, and made it perfectly clear to the woman how she felt. My friend’s behavior bothered me greatly, so I found every opportunity the rest of our meal to compliment the waitress, and tell her what a great job she was doing.
I could feel my friend’s anger simmering, and she eventually chastised me for praising a server who did not deserve it. We finished our meal, put our conversation behind us, and went on our way. That night my friend called me to apologize. She said she was ashamed of how she had acted, and was thankful that I had treated the waitress so well because she probably needed the self-esteem boost.
It made me feel good that I made a difference. I don’t know what was wrong with my normally kind (and formerly a waitress herself) friend, but I did not want to leave that place with the woman feeling badly about herself. And, I don’t think my friend will ever behave like that again.

I appreciated your kind behaviour, shame on your friend, but nicely she can realize her fault later.Life is just like a mirror, how we act to others, they will act to us in the same way. Thus,i always show respects to each labour, even he/she is a street cleaner.

I have seen a few folks shouting at waiters.
Some even curse them!
This is highly unacceptable.
Yes they too are humans, simply doing their job.
So we should behave properly with them.
And in case of any issue, one can try to talk amicably with the Managers there.

I agree! Delays are inevitable. There will be delays in all areas but we should always be patient.

True indeed. People have become very impatient and not sensitive enough nowadays. They want everything fast

At the same time, dining out is about the service and experience as much as it is about the food, and a good business with good wait staff understands this. I will not be one to complain or be rude to anyone. I just won't go back if the service is poor or slow.
As for "peak" times when more people may be dining, it also requires good management to make sure there is enough staff to accommodate the guests. The thing to remember is that these people are there to serve us, and we are not forced to do business with them. We are there because we want to be there, and their job is to make us want to come back.
I should also point out that what some would consider to be rude might also be constructive criticism taken the wrong way. Wait staff and managers would be wise to listen to customers rather than brush them off as rude. If they want to stay in business, they have to pay attention to what the customers are saying and change the experience, or risk being shut down because no one wants to eat there anymore.
If you find yourself in a place where there are MANY customers acting this way, it's likely not that the place is full of rude customers. It's more likely you are in place that doesn't DESERVE to have customers because they are failing to do what is needed to satisfy them.

Theoretically,we should respect any labour, work shouldn't be ranked. But in fact, some ppl look down on waiter or waitress. They rudely treated a waiter, especially some proud persons behaved like that.I always show respects to every labour.
