Didn't even get the chance to say "Good morning" this morning. It's 5:43 p.m. by my computer clock right now. I got up at--?? Well, much earlier than I usually do, and I went and caught the bus. Once I got downtown, I took a Lyft to the Coast Guard training center, where people in cars were being let in. I was told to call my new boss to send down a ride for me, which I did, and waited by the building. After about five minutes the training person came down in her car and took me to the Day Care. I spent a lot of the day, after being given a tour by the director, filling out papers (some of which were my "training"). A necessary evil, I guess. On occasion, the training person or the director would come in and ask me to got help a teacher in a room, or cover for another teacher, or fill out something different than the papers I already had. I got an hour lunch break, too. Last thing of the day I got to hang out with preschool aged kids in their play yard, and there were a few that kept grabbin my hand and saying, "Come do this." or, "Play this with me." None of them seemed shy of me. When all of the children had been picked up, I went in with the closing teacher (I got the impression that that person changes, though), and she showed me where to put this or that, and we were done. The training person drove me back down to the front, went home, and I called a Lyft to take me to the Grocery Outlet store (which I was too tired to do any shopping at, but plan to in the future), and from there I walked to the bus transit mall. The bus I needed was just leaving, and I thought I'd have to sit and read until the next one came, but the driver stopped and opened the door and asked, "Did you want the(Route)11?" I said I had, so he said to get on, and when I started to dig in my bag to get my payment card, he said, "It's on the house." So I made no bones about that. Now I need to go and get my mail, and when I get home get something to eat. Hope that your day/evening/etc. has gone well in your part of myLot land!
