I Felt Homesick Yesterday

For some reason, I was really down yesterday. All I wanted was to be left alone, to enjoy a nice pitty-party all by myself. Clinical Depression is the pits! I tried praying, but felt like I was talking to the ceiling. God is omnipresent, but at times I don't actually feel his presence, even though I know the Lord cares about me. And I try to be good, at all times. I went to bed early and tried to get comfortable. No matter how I laid, it just didn't seem right. Remmington is my teddy bear, even he was just an inanimate object. I found him all wound up in the covers, upside down. I guess he didn't want a hug. Anyway, I got up about four times, to get two more kleenex. Eventually, I must have fallen asleep. When I woke up, my eyes are red and puffy, so I washed my face in extra warm water and soap. I don't use makeup, except lip balm. Now, it's almost 9:30A and I've had two cups of regular(high octane)coffee. To heck with my high blood pressure, I'd much rather have momentum to face this day, alone. I'm doing OK, after last night's ordeal. I did read a couple chapters of the Bible, in Revelation. Good grief! About the Anti-Christ, the marriage supper of the Lamb, Jesus Christ's 1,000 year reign and God's angel throwing Satan into the lake of fire, that burns forever Common Kharla, you can find something more uplifting than that! Maybe I'll go down to Lake Huron and watch the children swimming in the ice cold water, coming out a strange shade of blue. Hypothermia? Only God knows for sure Photo: Mine from last week

@RebeccasFarm I felt rejected by Mom, she favored my oldest sister. The last year of her life, Mom and Sona didn't see eye to eye. My selfish sister wanted to control, Mom told her to stop. I let Mom remain in control of her own life.

Thanks, I'm doing a little better, now that the weather is so beautiful. It was cold last week, I had to bundle up in a coat.

Oh, lord. Revelation is definitely not going to make you feel better! Hopefully, you'll feel a little better day by day. And maybe our virtual hugs will help.

I am sorry that you are going through depression. I know how it is and it's really tough when you can't seem to find the consolation that you need. I don't have an exact formula for cheering myself up either. Sometimes I'd just listen to praise and hymn songs. Sometimes I'd listen to sermons. Most days I prefer to talk to our elderly neighbors -- they seem to offer me a degree of comfort. I also try to get as much morning sunshine as I can and exercise or walk regularly. I was also advised to get more sleep and to eat on schedule. I hope you feel better, Kharla. I'm praying for you.

Turning to prayer, praise, and spiritual music is the best remedy for being depressed. Worry has no purpose, except to drag me down into a bad mental state. Today, things are better and God's presence is definitely real:) Thanks, for being my friend! Sunshine always benefits my day, as do elderly people, also.

I know where you're coming from. I have an urge now and then to be back in Latvia. Then it is hard for me to get over the feeling but eventually, I pull myself together. Virtual hugs to you and I hope you feel better soon, I read from the New Testament every morning and some Psalms at night, I have a good combination of the Bible in English in the morning and the Psalms at night in Latvia. Hey, how about taking a nice brisk swim yourself?

I read the Bible every day, it's a comfort most of the time. Once the water warms up a bit, I will be taking a swim, also:)

I am sorry that you are depressed. If we are honest there isn't any of us who isn't from time to time. I like @LouAvul advice about reading in the book of Psalms, there is much comfort there. Praying for you.

I’m sorry, I know how you’re feeling. I go through it every day. I tell myself things will get better in time but it doesn’t. I hope it gets better for both of us.

I do feel God's presence, but not when I'm depressed. Instead, I pull into a shell of self-pity, feeling that I don't deserve to feel down, ever. While other people are enjoying their day, I become withdrawn and empty.
