Day 322 (Isaiah 13:1-5) The burden against Babylon which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw. “Lift up a banner on the high mountain, raise your voice to them; wave your hand, so that they may enter the gates of the nobles. I have commanded My sanctified ones; I have also called My mighty ones for My anger—those who rejoice in My exaltation.” The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like that of many people! A tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together! The LORD of hosts musters the army for battle. They come from a far country, from the end of heaven—The LORD and His weapons of indignation, to destroy the whole land. Do you laugh at peoples’ troubles? Do you nod your head and say they had it coming to them? Isaiah prophesied against Babylon because she would treat the LORD’S people with hatred. He said the LORD would come against her to destroy her. The LORD would bring His army against Babylon, all those who rejoiced in His exaltation. He would gather them together for the battle to destroy the whole land. As Christians, you know God came against Babylon when He returned Judah to their homeland. You also know there will come a final battle when God will destroy Babylon during the Tribulation. (Revelation 14:6-8) Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” (NKJV) When you stand against God, even when you do His will, He will bring judgment against you. God sent Judah into exile to Babylon for their disobedience to Him. He did not give Babylon permission to mistreat His people. Because they would mistreat His chosen people, He would destroy Babylon. God came against them once when He returned His people to their homeland. He will do it again in the Tribulation when He fully destroys Babylon for all the atrocities she will do to His people. When you come against God, He will destroy you. He will use those who rejoice in Him to bring about your destruction. The best place to be is on God’s side, doing His will, and treating His chosen people with respect and favor. Let’s pray: Father, let me always stand on Your side, doing what is right regarding Your chosen people, praying for them, and treating them with respect because You have never forsaken them. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 31 May 2023 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

We don't have to belittle our fellow for their shortcomings or problems. Let's ourselves into their shoes instead. That's how humanity should work.
