Can you skip?

I thought this was an easy thing to do, kind of like once you do it you never forget. My local morning news has a fun segment called "What Caught My Eye." They played a video that was part of a TikTok (I don't use that app myself, but it's not about that) challenge, asking people to skip. Apparently, skipping is something a heck of a lot of adults have forgotten how to do. In one video, the awkwardness of a sheriff deputy's attempt is downright hysterically funny.
I'm one of them. A couple of years ago I left the store, Petco, with my friend Naomi, and her dog, Paploo. For some reason, I decided that it was a great time to start skipping. I wondered aloud to her if I still could, and gave it a try; almost face planting in the parking lot. Naomi, laughing, grabbed my arm, and and asked me to try again the next time we were near grass. I decided that was a good idea.
Do you think you can still skip, of those who were able to do so as a child?

I do not think I can do it now. I used to in the good old days and as pretty fast too. I remember my school record of 72 per minute.

Hmm... I don't know. I haven't tried in years. With my balance issues, I'm not sure I want to try, either.

I just tested myself out
. Ok, it seems I can do it . . . but I felt silly
. I remember skipping as a kid (why did we do that) . . . but now I just don't feel the need to do it. Hmmmm, maybe this would be a good alternative to running . . . I'm gonna skip around the house for the rest of the day

Oh, yes, and my ability to skip goes back to when you had to get up and move the record player’s arm past a song!
I’ll try skipping after lunch, and tell you how successful I was. I’m expecting the response will come from the emergency room, but….

@AmbiePam — happy to report that (a) yes, I can still skip, (b) it didn’t land me in the hospital (or even on the floor), and (c) it prompted me to sing Buck Owens’ “My Heart Skips a Beat.”

I haven’t tried it in many years. Maybe I’ll give it a try.

@AmbiePam I better wait until my husband is home to pick me up off of the floor.

I used to love skipping, as a child. Can I still skip at this time? I'd be afraid to try!

I think I can still Skip. A couple of years ago my husband brought a skipping rope (at that time I was living with my mom and the rope is still there) He started skipping and asked me to give it a try. I did pretty well. I was surprised that I could still skip. But the only thing is that I got tired quickly. 2 to 3 mins and I was outta breath.
I wish I had the same energy as I had when I was a kid.

I am still able to skip. I am flexible enough to do the skipping in deed.

I loved to skip and did it often. Right now I could see me falling on my nose and breaking it if I tried skipping with my bum knee

but an interesting thought I wonder if I still could skip,

I used to skip by myself and also with some friends. That was so fun.
I have a plan to do it again.
