Do you give some of your passwords you don't use to your friends?

I recently spoke to someone and he asked for one of my passwords. I don't want to use an account with ads and he wants to have access to my account. I didn't expect this and I asked him if he was joking. I wasted a lot of time there and I can't give him my password. He wanted to have access to my computer and I refused. He says that he is my friend, but we always argue. I am so tired of arguing. He says he cares and he only wants access to my passwords or he wants me to be his referral. I wonder if you ever give passwords you don't use to 'friends'.

No one, and I mean no one, gets my password. Your friend must be nuts to expect you to give him yours.

@dya80dya It sounds like he is up to something fishy. He should understand you just aren’t comfortable with that.

I would never give away my passwords to friends. A true friend would never make such a request and pressure you about that!

@dya80dya Right. A password is very private for a reason. He should respect your privacy!

Yes, I think the same. How can he say he is my friend when he insists so much?

Nope I don't give anyone access to anything of mine unless it's my husband because we have shared accounts in those case its understood that had shared passwords and usernames. I don't give it to friends or family unless I absolutely have to which is nearly never.

@dya80dya yes, it does because I know a lot. I was raised in a tech house, so things were burned into my head.

No, never give anyone your pass words. That can cause you a world of trouble.

No. I don't give my passwords to anyone including my friends. It's a very private and personal thing to be respected. A close friend of mine gave me her password because she has a hard time making online applications and she needs my help. She isn't tech-savvy so I helped her with her password given to me. After the applications were done, I told her to change her password so that she's the only one who knows.

I do the same. Some people gave me their passwords, but I felt bad.
