My sister's friend, from McPherson is wanting to move.
His rent is going up a lot in July and he feels he cannot afford it, so he would like to find another income based housing.
Probably he does not keep track of his medical expenses and that is why his rent is going up so much.
Anyway, Ron knows there is some HUD (income based) housing in my town so he drove over to look. He also checked at towns in between. Some of them sound very promising but none of them have vacancies.
I also think he just misses my sister and he feels restless with not much to do.
He got all turned around when he first came to town and so he called me. I rode around with him for a while. He was Bruno's owner before my sister took him.
Ron also talks about maybe moving to Newton, which would be a better choice because some of his doctors are there., including his cardiologist.
I may try to help him check that out.

That could be a great place for him. It would save him time and gas being close to his doctor.

I think it would. He is kind of at loose ends. He felt my sister was the best friend he ever had.

I hope so too. There are places he would like but no vacancies.

When I hear from him he does tell me how much he is missing her. We were all surprised it was so sudden.

I'm unclear as to why not keeping track of medical expenses would cause his rent to go up.

In subsidized housing, when they evaluate your income every year, your out of pocket expenses are used to reduce the amount of rent you owe. Whenever the re evaluation came up every year my sister would request from each doctor a copy of her account and from the pharmacy as well. It would keep her rent from going up very much. His is going up by $138. I have reminded him that the nice young lady at the Council on Aging may be able to help him.

Rents do go up, but his should not have jumped as much as it did.

Everything is going up. I think part of his problem is that he did not have any out of pocket medical to submit. I believe he probably had them but he did not do like my sister and request records from each of them, and his pharmacy bills.

@GardenGerty That's a shame that he doesn't keep records of his medical bills.
