The temperatures are supposed to be not quite so hot tomorrow. Hubby and I plan on driving to the state capitol, Olympia. We want to go to their farmer's market then have lunch on the patio at a very sweet seafood restaurant. Dogs are not allowed into the farmer's market so we will leave Rufus home. I hate that but his waiting in a hot car is just not going to work. I am grateful for hubby's pension. Farmer's Market produce is locally raised food. Its a shame that the produce costs more than many families can afford. Healthy berries should not be a luxury. Makes me sad even while I like to think of the bustling Market as a colorful, fun place to visit. The photo is mine. Beau Teak on the left and Peter on the right. Beau started to play with Peter's rope for a few minutes.

I was encouraged to find out that our local Farmer's Market now accepts food stamps. Because you are right about produce costing more than a lot of families can afford. People don't realize junk food is cheaper than even fruits and vegetables. So I was excited when I saw that news. My dad's wife absolutely loves the Farmer's Market, and my best friend's goal is to grow enough produce to get her own booth at her Farmer's Market; although that might be harder than she thinks. Apparently, they have a lot of people wanting to showcase their wares! Beau and Peter are absolutely adorable, and I am so glad you shared this picture.

@sallypup Yes, you're right, they have to pay. I guess it's lucrative enough here that there is a waiting list. I think it's that way in my city because they just built a new space for the Market. It was supposed to bring in a lot more people with a better location, and a bigger space, and it did. I liked the older location because it was so quaint, but now more people have a chance to make money, so it's for the better.

@AmbiePam Olympia's Farmer's Market is one of the bigger ones in my area. Three aisles with a roof overhead, a little stage outside for singers and other performers. Its near a lovely boardwalk that overlooks a marina. Touristy and sweet.

@AmbiePam Wow on the price of junk like chips. Those goodies are spendy now, too. Beau and Peter thank you. I believe a person that has a booth at a Farmer's Market has to pay for the space. Nothing free or cheap now, I guess.

I like visiting our farmers market to listen to the music and look at the art work but but the food is too expensive

Gosh, there is a big difference in the size of your two cats. I hadn't realised Peter was so small - or maybe it's Beau Teak who is large!

@JudyEv Camera angle? Beau Teak is around 9 years old. Peter is just under 9 months old.

@sallypup It might be something to do with the camera angle. They just look so 'opposite'.

Beau Teak and Peter are having a good time, playing with that rope! Our cats used to love getting wound up in strands of yarn, at times:)

@sallypup We used to cut doorways and windows in a cardboard box. Those kittens would play for hours, batting at one another through the holes!

@kobesbuddy Tons of fun for everyone. I was just watching Peter kitten slapping Fred cat in the face then running off. Pretty funny.

I hate having to spend so much at the Farmer's Market, when the store is cheaper.

Tuffy would fit right in with those two, same coloring at least.

That's a nice picture of Beau Teak and Peter. We tend to buy from individual homeowners that put produce out on their front lawns. They are much cheaper than the farmer's market. Hope you have a great day.
