Ants are teetotalers

We have methods to take care of ants be it in the garden or inside the house Inside the house they are mostly seen in the kitchen where food is kept and also sometimes on the dining table But they cannot reach the food as we keep everything in moats. Ants cannot swim. We keep cats' food also in a moat On the floor we sprinkle Notix as mild insecticide. The only exception is wine. The wine in glasses is not touched by the ants. The conclusion therefore is that ants are teetotalers. Have you noticed that? Or may be your ants are not

Yes, that must be it. Decades ago my mom would have ants come into her kitchen window, so she’d pour out a line of cinnamon across the window ledge, and the ants never crossed it. Eventually, when they could afford it, they put in new windows, and their problem ceased.

Cinnamon is pretty expensive but I got to learn something about ants not liking cinnamon as well

@allknowing I haven't bought cinnamon in awhile, but all those years ago it was fairly inexpensive. I should have expected by now that probably would have changed.

It is easy to deal with the ants. But actually today it is rarely to see ants at home. Sometimes we can see it from some parks but not very often yet.

@allknowing In the past it was, but today even I put sugar on the table all the time, but no ants at all. It is hardly to see an ant today, very strange.

@youless Here they are normally seen when it starts raining. Yesterday there were huge ants and I dusted the floor with Notix and they disapapeared.

I see here we can control by just making sure food spills and drinks are cleaned as soon as they occur . I have never used any insecticide to control them
