I mentioned the other day that I was on the lookout for a shopping trolley and, amazingly, I found a good-as-new one at a great price in a charity shop. It was plain black, so perfectly functional but I wanted something more ‘customised’. I brought it home and rummaged around in the garage for paint and in the house for stencils (from when the girls were small) and the three of us set about decorating it. The result is on the left – the one on the right is the old trolley we similarly ‘jazzed up’ when Big One was little, about 15 years ago. Just the thing for carting lots of ‘clobber’ around a festival! All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2023.

That's looks great. You should be able to find it easily in a crowd.

The only downside, I found, was that when we used the original one to cart all our stuff to the panto performances, people mistook it for one of the dame's props and put it away at the end of the show!

It looks professionally done, and is a heck of a lot more appealing. Your creativity must be infectious to your daughters.

It's funny because I never considered myself creative. But maybe we should start a line in festival trolleys!

@Fleura If enough people saw them, they'd want them!

@fleura Well you certainly won’t mistake it on the luggage carousel if you ever fly with it. Beautiful.

We have previously decorated our suitcases too, for exactly that reason! When my partner has to go on a work trip I'm sure he must get some funny looks

That’s a great idea, the stencils really brought the shopping trolleys to life.
