India desperately require a new team and new captain.

After the shameful defeat against Australia in the finals of Test Championship in Oval, India require a change of team and captain. Firstly Rohit Sharma is unfit as a captain. He made a bogus decision to field in the oval match where Australia won the test on the first day itself and put up around 450 runs on the board. Leg spinners like Chahal and Kuldeep dont gain chances in tests who can win matches for the country. India has a series of wicket keepers in the country where a hopeless keeper like Bharat is wasting time. Players like Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, Surya Kumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan should be in the team.

Not playing Ashwin was a mistake.
Apart from being a high quality spinner, he is good at scoring valuable runs, with a technique sometimes lacking even among the top order players!
I wonder if none of Virat, Rahane and Pujara cannot withstand difficult bowling for an extra 1 or 2 sessions as was expected on the final day, what use are their records!
Shreyas Iyer was injured but he is a bit suspect against the rising ball.
Players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sarfaraz Khan ( he has been scoring hundreds of runs in the domestic cricket, although he had a bad IPL 2023).
Unfortunately, I do not see too tough decisions coming from a group of selectors who haven't even have a selected chairman since many months (some mindless politics in BCCI may be!!).
It's so different from Australia where even players of the calibre of Steve and Mark Waugh were dropped from ODI squad, back in early 2000s, even with a few failures.
Dhoni used to take some tough decisions but would such a decision be taken now.
As of now, I think Rohit would be given more chances till Rishabh Pant or K.L.Rahul are fit and fine.
As per me, Hardik Pandya is better left for white ball cricket as of now.
Have a great Saturday!!
